1. Parties and Acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MatePay mobile application ("App"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Scope of Services

MatePay is a technology platform designed to help users manage group expenses, track shared debts, and organize settlements. The App may include advanced tools such as AI-powered receipt scanning and intelligent item-based splitting. MatePay is not a bank, payment processor, or financial institution; it is exclusively a recording and calculation tool.

3. Membership and Account Security

• You must be of legal age (at least 18 years old) to use the App.
• You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Any activity conducted through your account is deemed authorized by you.
• You must immediately notify the MatePay support team of any suspected unauthorized access to your account.

4. User Obligations

• You agree not to use the App for any illegal, fraudulent, or money-laundering activities.
• Data Accuracy: The obligation to check and verify the accuracy of all data (amounts, participants, itemized distributions) generated via AI-powered scanning or manual entry lies entirely with the user.
• You must not engage in harassing, threatening, or spamming behavior toward other users.
• You may not attempt to compromise the App's infrastructure, database, or security systems, nor engage in reverse engineering.

5. Intellectual Property

All MatePay logos, source codes, interface designs, advanced calculation algorithms, and technical infrastructure are protected by intellectual property laws and belong exclusively to MatePay. They may not be copied, reproduced, or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

6. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. MatePay shall not be held liable for potential inaccuracies in AI-powered scans, incorrect IBAN entries, unpaid debts among users, or any personal financial disputes. Our liability for any data loss or indirect damages is strictly limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

7. Modifications to the Terms

MatePay reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting within the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App signifies your acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Termination and Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently delete your account without prior notice if you violate these Terms, create a fake profile, or compromise the security of the platform.
